New Years Resolutions.

So by now, we've all heard of the "new year, new me" New Years Resolution. Why not start now, I ask? Everyone feels like they have to make themselves better at the start of a new year, but what if we just changed what we didn't like about ourselves when we noticed it? I had seen a list of some resolutions on tumblr that I absolutely agree with and plan to start now. I'm not waiting for a new time frame to change what I don't like about myself.

“1.Stop posting negative sh*t about celebrities on social media. Miley Cyrus does not care what you think about her haircut, Justin Bieber does not care what you think of his tattoos and Gwyneth Paltrow couldn’t care less regarding what you think about her diet.

2. Stop resenting yourself for drunk texting your ex. Sure, its a little embarrassing, but at least you’re addressing your feelings. Not that you should aim to drink an entire bottle of rum then see what happens, but… roll with the punches.

3. Leave the country. If you don’t have money, look into doing charity work abroad. Some programs will sponsor you.

4. If you hate your job, quit your job. Repeat after me: THE MONEY IS NOT WORTH IT. Food and shelter are clutch though, so make sure you have another job lined up.

5. Stop beating yourself up for skipping the gym on days you truly didn’t have time. But also, stop skipping the gym on days you had plenty of time to go.

6. Make up — not to be confused with make out — with an ex.

7. Rid yourself of enemies. Apologize for what you did wrong and forgive those who have wronged you.

8. Rid yourself of “frenemies.” Don’t spend 2014 surrounded by people you secretly despise.

9. If you think somebody is cute, say “hi” and introduce yourself. Every relationship you have ever had started with a greeting.

10. Leave your phone number for someone. Worst-case scenario: you won’t get a call and maybe you’ll feel a tiny bit embarrassed. Regardless of the outcome, you put yourself out there and probably made the other person’s day.

11. Stop caring about how many people “like” your Instagram photos. If you like the photo enough to post it, what else matters? Social media anxiety is a waste of time.

12. Cross something off your bucket list. Sky dive, bungee jump, scuba dive, etc. Don’t make excuses as to why you can’t accomplish something, and check out

13. Stop hating yourself for eating dessert. A piece of birthday cake is a right, not a privilege.

14. Keep a journal. It doesn’t have to be something you use daily, but documenting your experiences is incredibly important. You’ll appreciate it later.

15. Strengthen relationships with family members. Blood is thicker than water.

16. Help strangers. “Pay it forward,” do good things for the world — and don’t post a Facebook status about it.

17. Conquer a fear. Personally, I fear Bikram Yoga. (Actually, I fear heights.)

18. Turn off your smartphone at dinner.

19. Don’t check your Twitter feed when you’re with friends.

20. Try a fashion trend you never thought you could pull off. And, do it with confidence. Floppy hats, snap backs, Harem pants; you can do it!

21. Double-text without fear. THOU SHALL NOT BE IGNORED!

22. Shop locally, eat locally and recognize where your money is going. Consumers control the economy, so visit the mom-and-pop coffee shop down the street instead of Starbucks. Shop at boutiques rather than chains (they aren’t all expensive — trust me). Try Etsy.com instead of retail conglomerates.

23. Cry. When you’re happy and when you’re sad; embrace your emotions as they come.

24. Stop being so shallow. Next time you find yourself judging someone based on his or her appearance, imagine the person standing in front of you saying, “I’m beautiful.” You’ll start to believe it.

25. If you want someone to commit to you, vocalize it. Don’t settle for being someone’s “f*ck buddy” if that isn’t what you want. “Together” is the waiting period between “talking” and “dating”; purgatory shouldn’t last forever.”

Try it, you might just feel better about getting a head start on your life and who you're meant to be!

Be Confident

Some of the best advice I've ever gotten, to this day, is to be confident in everything you do. For me, I try to apply that to every day life, but mostly to my fashion choices. If you think you look amazing in something, you do, so own it. If you don't believe you look good, nobody else will think so either. Confidence is what MAKES the outfit, what makes your style, and it makes you who you are! So show off everything that you are because there's only one you in the world and you might as well flaunt that.

I never thought I could ever pull off the whole "tucked in shirt in skinny jeans" look, but you know what? I did! Because I felt like I looked great, and nobody could say otherwise.

Not to mention, the "sheer-blouse" style? OWNED it!

So try something you've never thought you could pull off, and don't worry if anyone else will think you look good. Because your confidence will make you shine.

The start of my day.

Learning to change old habits is hard, there's no doubt. Though changing it all at once can be detrimental.

Since I have been slowly teaching myself to enjoy the thought of breakfast, I had decided to take up a morning ritual of meditation. Let me tell you, it absolutely switches up your mood. If you're not a morning person, like myself, meditation actually gives you time to wake up, focus on you, and to tell yourself "today will be a great day because I will make it happen." Or at least that's what I tell myself.

This is the kind of music I listen to in order to get myself into a zen state. Try it out, you just might find out new things you would never even know about yourself.

Antique Mall Shopping<3

So, I mentioned in my previous post about going to a tea room for lunch, which is in an antique mall. I figured I'd show the two things I'm happy that I bought, since I'd been wanting something like them forever.

First though, I GOT NEW GLASSES! Since my other ones have been long gone for a while now, I needed some new glasses so I could stop damaging my eyes further. So....
Bam! (Excuse my extremely weird face, by the way.)

1. I bought this really cute bracelet, which has the same thing as a tattoo I plan on getting later on.

2. These earrings are absolutely adorable. My new favorite pair to own, for sure. I figured I'd "girlify" my accessories a bit.

If I should say so myself, my finds were awesome.

OOTD 12-22-13

I went out late Christmas shopping today, as well as lunch with my sister and grandmother to this really nice tea room inside an antique shop. So amazing. I swear I'm secretly a British person in an American body, because I said so.

This outfit is legendary, because it's actually one of the first times my mom has every agreed in my style of clothing. So I plan on marking today as a moment in history.

Breakfast anyone?

Learning to actually eat a big breakfast, or breakfast at all, has always been a challenge for me. Growing up, it was easy to hide behind the fact that normally I was running late for school and I was "too busy for breakfast". Now, it's harder for me to get into the habit of eating, at a time that I deprived my body for so long to eat its biggest meal. The thought of actually eating breakfast makes my stomach shrink in horror, but I push through it. It's not that I have to eat breakfast, because I'm an adult and make my own decisions; It's because I want to, to be healthy and not have weird eating habits. I want to be full from breakfast to midday lunch and not be "hungry" all morning until I finally get my lunch break. To a lot of people, this seems silly and tedious, I'm assuming. To me, though, and lots of other boys and girls, it makes a difference. So remember peeps, try and have breakfast one morning a week. Then two. And three. Slowly, you'll make your way up to eating in the morning regularly. And you'll still be absolutely beautiful.

Eyebrows

Okay, so it's only fitting that my first post be about something we honestly ALL hate to do (if you say you don't, stop lying) which is our eyebrows.

I'll be the first to admit, that I seriously needed to do my eyebrows. In the hurry of being busy with work and studying, anytime I thought about needing to do them, something came up and pushed that thought back into the dark abyss of my mind. Well, today I finally remembered to do them and now the beasts that are nicknamed "the caterpillars of the face" have officially been tamed. I don't think I've ever been more relieved in this past month as I have been today, finally accomplishing something that I have needed to do for awhile. Now, I see the difference because, well, it's my face. Although, I'm sure anyone could see the obvious lacking of straggle hairs all over the place.

After:

Is it just me? Okay then, maybe it is. This is a true statement though, that just doing one simple thing for yourself can be enough to change your entire mood around. I don't know about guys, but for us girls, taking out the time to either tweeze or wax our "brow monsters" can be such a stress already. We have so many things going through our mind already, that to do little things for ourselves is kind of on the back burner.

So today, do something for yourself. Anything! Paint your nails, go for a relaxing walk, have some sweets, catch up on your shows. Because it's not only essential to your health to be happy and relaxed, it's also a huge factor in recovery. Just remember, do something for yourself every once in a while.

Stay Fabulous.
